Make your own dishwasher cubes

1 Cup Borax
1 Cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda

1/2 Cup Epsom Salt

3/4 Cup Lemon Juice

Directions:
Mix the first 3 ingredients together in a bowl.  Add lemon juice - it should be wet enough to mold, don't get it too wet.  Portion out about 1 Tablespoon into one inch cubes.....an ice cube tray with that makes small cubes. Make sure it will fit in the cup of your machine.

Let dry, then store in an air tight container.

Citrus Vinegar Cleaner

Another great way to whiten and disinfect!

 100% natural SUNSHINE

The ultraviolet radiation of sunlight is a natural disinfectant.

You can effectively brighten and disinfect your stained

laundry by spraying it with lemon juice and then hanging it

in the sun.
My latest great find!!

If you are looking for a bleach alternative, here is the mix for you!  Smells great and works wonderfully.  You can use this in your laundry and as an all purpose household cleaner.

12 cups water
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup hydrogen peroxide
Mix. Add 2 cups per wash load to use in laundry or put in spray bottle and use as a household cleaner.

DIY Bleach Gel

DIY Bleach Gel
  • ¾ cup water
  • 3 Tbsp corn starch
  • 4-7 Tbsp household bleach
Mix water and corn starch together in a small pan. Bring to a boil, stirring continuously until mixture becomes translucent and pudding-like. Let cool. If you need to make it more than a few hours ahead of time, cover the pot with plastic wrap so it won’t dry out. Start adding bleach by the Tbsp, until you have the consistency and strength you desire. Gel will thin a little bit after sitting. Use as you would regular bleach gel.

40 load dryer sheet!!

Take your favorite liquid fabric softener and soak an old wash cloth or dish cloth completely with it. Wring it out and let it dry completely, then throw it in with your next load. This mega-fabric softener sheet should be good for at least 40 loads of laundry, stretching out softener use and lessening waste.

Dishwasher Rinse Aid

 Dishwasher Rinse Aid

If you’ve been wanting a way to cut costs on dishwasher rinse aid… here’s a great frugal alternative:
 White Vinegar!
That’s it!  Rather than using expensive rinse agents, simply fill your rinse aid dispenser with white vinegar. Vinegar does a great job at removing spots and disinfecting, too!
